This page explains, in plain language, how Learn Pilot handles personal information, including information about students. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.
1. Who we are
Learn Pilot provides a free educational service. We operate on a not-for-profit basis and are currently pre-revenue. We are not using your information to run a conventional for-profit sales or advertising business.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect information such as contact details, account or school identifiers, learning activity, and other information you or an authorised adult choose to provide. We aim to collect only what is reasonable for the purposes below.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, improve and secure the Service (including tutoring, progress and reporting features);
- communicate with users (for example about the Service or support);
- support our mission by using student-related information, where appropriate, to apply for or secure student grants and to refer students for scholarships or similar educational opportunities (including sharing limited information with funders, assessors or program administrators where required for those processes and permitted by law);
- meet legal or regulatory obligations.
4. What we do not do
We do not sell personal information for general commercial marketing, and we do not use student information to market unrelated products or services to families. Grant and scholarship-related uses are for educational funding and opportunity pathways aligned with our mission, not for unrelated sales.
5. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
6. Children and consent
Where information relates to people under 18, we expect a parent, guardian or authorised school representative to be involved in decisions about use of the Service and any consent required under applicable privacy law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete certain information, or to object to or restrict some processing. Contact us (below) to make a request. We will respond in line with applicable law.
